Introducing Dr. Hsiung

David Hsiung is the Charles and Shirley Knox Professor of History at Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA. Since 1991, the beginning of his Juniata career, he has become a well-respected professor, providing students with an exceptional historical education.

Aside from teaching courses in History, Hsiung expands his work through publications, oral presentations for various organizations, and has participated in many institutional activities. Proof presents Hsiung as a well-rounded individual, who is enthusiastically involved with the Juniata Community and beyond.

With Hsiung's unique style and creative teaching techniques, he always manages to make history fun and interesting for the students, especially when he provides extra credit points to those students who show up to class dressed as a historical figure!

In 2000, The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education recognized Hsiung's enthusiasm. This Foundation named Hsiung "Professor of the Year for Pennsylvania." The Post Gazette features the story best through an article, "History Keeps Beckoning His Students Forward," on January 21, 2001.
