Although Hsiung has a good reputation for teaching the courses above, he claims that he must be doing something wrong if students are making mistakes like these!
Student Bloopers
For "20th Century American Wars" final exam: "When we first got there [Vietnam] many leaders were not adapted to Gorilla Warfare." And in an oral history interview of a veteran: "After boot camp, I was sent to camp Legume where I did the rest of my training."
Identification for the "Columbian Exchange": "The exchange also had some negative effects too. Disease was brought to the new land, for example smallpox. The colonies lacked the antibodies necessary to cure this cold. So they imported anti-biotics."
For "Environmental History": "Its
natural surrounding [Arch Springs] possess so much more than you could ever
imagine, from the waterfowl in the stream to the peasants running on the ridge."
