GIS is an technology that is now an integral part of many government agencies, private consulting firms, and academic institutions. This course provides valuable hands-on experience while encouraging the student to think through a series of problems that often have no single solution - only best alternatives.

This course is aimed at presenting the student with an introduction to a Geographical Information System (GIS). It also encourages thinking in a spatial context. A diverse array of hands-on applications and projects are used. Through this course, the sutdents will develop an understanding of the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of a technological application in real-world situations.

Meeting Times:

Wednesday - 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Wednesday - 1:00 pm to 5 pm
