Andy has been involved in many projects that have had far reaching results around the world. He has worked with groups ranging from the Taureg Rebel Soldiers in West Africa, to politicians in the United Nations, to other peace keeping advocates in establishing the Peace Studies Associations. In each of these instances, Andy gives of himself so that others may realize the importance and necessity of the work that Peace and Conflict Studies teaches. His role as an advocate started back in the sixties when he participated in the Civil Rights movement. It continues to this day in his work with the United Nations.
Whether shaking Martin Luther King's hand, or planting trees in the desert to celebrate the burning of one million dollars worth of arms, Andy's main goal is to educate the people of the world in some way that nonviolence is a feasible and workable solution to the problems that our world faces. His work with dozens of different groups in different countries has made an immeasurable impact on the way that some governments go about solving their disputes.
Two of Andy's main projects in the past few years are his work in West Africa and his work with ISACD. Please visit these pages to learn more about what has been and what is being done.
