below, please create one MS Word document, which has the name:
ma103Assignment11YOURNAME.
Saving in MS Word should automatically give this file the proper extension of
.doc or .docx. You should upload this
file in Moodle prior to the deadline. Clearly label which Activity and problem
you are answering. It might be helpful to put in a "Page Break" between
the answers for Activities, where appropriate.
Anywhere below, when you are asked to paste a graph created in Excel into your
Word document, you may simply paste the graph. You do NOT need to import the
entire worksheet associated with it.

textbook, where you can find directions for using Excel.
- Type your answer for #1, using the file, EA14.1
State Population.xls.
- For #2 - #5, follow the directions and type your answers.
- Follow the directions for #6 and #7.
- For #8, follow the directions and type your answers.
- Type your answer for #9.
- For #10,follow the directions. In your MS Word document you should record
the divisors you used and their corresponding number of seats apportioned.
- Type your answers for #11 and #12.
- For #13, type your calculations and results into your MS Word document.
- For #14, type your answer and explain your conclusion.
- For #15, follow the directions and enter the formula in F2 into your MS Word document.
- For #16, follow the directions.
- For #17, enter the formula in G2 into your MS Word document,
and type in your calculations.
- For #18, follow the directions.
- For #19, enter the formula in H2 into your MS Word document,
and type your explanation.
- For #20,follow the directions. In your MS Word document you should record
the divisors you used and their corresponding number of seats apportioned.
- Type your answers for #21 thru #23.
- Copy and Paste your final spreadsheet into your MS Word document. Remove
all the columns except four: (1) the state, (2) it's population, (3) the number
of seats from Adams' method, (4) the number of seats from the Huntington-Hill
method.

A. Read Topic 16 in the textbook, and work the assigned
Exploration problems as listed for each day on the course web-site.
B. Activity 16.1 The specific questions for
Activity 16.1 are on pg. 562 - 568 in your textbook, where you can
find directions for using Excel.
- Type your answer for #1 into your MS Word document.
- Enter the data into an blank Excel spreadsheet for #2.
- For #3, sort the data by points scored, copy and paste this spreadsheet
into your MS Word document, and then type the answer to the questions.
- Follow the directions for #4, no need to paste anything.
- Type your answers to #5 - #7.
- For #8, you should sketch the boxplot, but there is no need to turn this
in.
- Type your answer for #9.
- Follow the directions for #10 and #11, and type your answers to #11. You
copy and paste the data from the file EA16.1
Points Scored 2004.xls, or you could just type the data into your Excel
spreadsheet from the textbook.
- Follow the directions for #12. You should enter the new data into your Excel
spreadsheet, and use Excel to calculate the five-number summary. Enter the
five-number summary into your MS Word document. You should sketch the boxplot,
but there is no need to turn this in.
- Type your answer for #13.
