MA 103 Course Guidelines

Students are expected to:

- Attend class and arrive on-time, including for the "4th hour" (when it is mandatory).

- Be attentive in class, which means focusing on the lecture and taking notes, not web-surfing, emailing, instant/text messaging, etc. During lab time students should be doing work for MA 103.

- Follow assignment instructions, including uploading the proper version of the assignment prior to the deadline. The instructor is very willing to answer questions, but students should not expect the solutions to be "fed" to them.

- Help to maintain a cordial and respectful classroom atmosphere, and not taking out their frustration on those willing to help.

- Take responsibility for missed classes by notifying the instructor beforehand and consulting on missed material afterwards.

- Minimize or avoid special requests. The instructor realizes that the "real-world" occasionally intrudes on our academic lives, but she will keep track of special requests, and any trends will be considered when assigning final grades.
