Introductory Spanish Language Sequence

Spanish 120 - The continued study of the fundamentals of grammar, pronunciation and composition, stressing the development of skills in oral comprehension and production, writing and reading. Click here to view my syllabus for the Spring 2007 semester.

Spanish 210 - Covers more complex language structures completing the three-semester introductory sequence. Development of the four skills is continued with an emphasis on integrating Hispanic culture into the language learning process. Click here to view my syllabus for the Fall 2006 semester.

  • The University of Minnesota's CLA Language Center - links to search engines in Spanish, online learning resources such as dictionaries and exercises, geography and travel, news and weather, and much more.
  • City College of San Francisco's Language Center - links to Spanish language learning sites, including an excellent vocabulary resource, languageguide.org.
  • ¡Españolé! - a fun site with all kinds of links for Spanish students and teachers, created by Susan Seraphine-Kimel, the state of Florida's FAATSP Teacher of the Year for 2001-02.
  • Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures - another excellent source to access materials and information available electronically.
  • Centro Virtual Cervantes - the official site of Spain's Instituto Cervantes, all in Spanish and loaded with games, teaching material, and a wealth of information and links about the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures.
  • La página del idioma español - a site entirely in Spanish that receives more than 10,000 hits a day and provides all kinds of resources for lovers of the Spanish language, among them La palabra del día that you can have sent daily via email.

  • Diccionario de la Real Academia Española - the electronic edition of the Spanish Royal Language Academy's authoritative dictionary.
  • Diccionarios.com - on-line bilingual dictionaries that will provide English, Spanish, French, German, and Catalan equivalents as well as offer synonyms, antonyms, and verb conjugations.
