Welcome to Dr. Paula Wagoner's Homepage.
I am sitting in my office in Good Hall looking out my window (as I am inclined to do) watching clouds scudding over the ridges here in the Allegheny Mountains of central Pennsylvania. But, one cannot live by cloud dreaming alone, so I (the consummate technophobe) have constructed this page to reach into web-land.
I would like to introduce you to Juniata College, a small rural liberal arts college (translation: we live where everyone else vacations, and we do not have to deal with quite as many headaches as in large research institutions, while still being able to conduct our own research).
I work in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, Criminal Justice, and Social Work, which is a pretty big name for a five person department. But we persevere. As the sole anthropologist, I rule with an iron hand. But seriously, Juniata provides excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary connections, which is the main reason (besides cloud dreaming) that I am here.

The esteemed faculty of the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, Criminal Justice and Social Work at the end of a hard semester. From left to right: Liz Wiinamaki, Ph.D. (C.J.); Duane Strohman, Ph.D. (Soc.); Paula Wagoner, Ph.D. (Anthro); Yorick's primate ancestor (alas, I knew him well, too); Bob Reilly, M.S.W. (SW); and Susan Radis, M.S.S. (SW). Sterling examples of how one may be highly theoretical, while reserving the right to have a little fun from time to time.
Please make yourself at home, hunker down, and explore some of the aspects of my professional and personal interests. You may wish to visit my curriculum vitae page,or have a look at my courses for Spring semester 1999, and information about the POE in Anthropology. I also have several links to professional organizations, anthropological links, and some of my colleagues in the anthropological community. Additionally, I am beginning to add links to American Indian websites. I encourage my students to visit my personal favorite page, Reasons Why-that includes pictures of Wyoming (my beloved Wyoming), grandbabies, and my cats, C'ante Waste Win and Lucy, among other people, places, and things.
More to come...
